baby: 40 weeks

IMG_1902.JPG

Baby’s size? A pumpkin.

Total weight gain/loss: I'm gonna go with around 27ish pounds total.

Stretch marks? None from what I saw last night.

Sleep: Actually way better than last week's. I didn't have any middle of the night wake up sessions, which was pretty awesome!

Best moment this week: Just enjoying my pre-baby time as much as possible, which includes hanging out with hubby on his days off work - like yesterday!

Miss Anything? I miss being able to move and walk around a lot without experiencing pain later in the day from it.

Movement: Tons still, but now that the baby's getting bigger, I can actually feel it's little limbs. I'm not a good guesser, but it's obviously always an arm or a leg I can feel.

Food cravings: I could eat pomegranates until they went out of style.

Anything making you queasy or sick: More back lying, and last night after a nap was a little sick-ish feeling for some reason.

Gender: So many boy guesses these past few weeks, but I still don't know!!

Labor Signs: None as of Friday night, but I'm hoping by the time this posts that I will be in the hospital...wishful thinking!

Symptoms: Hopefully this is the final week of saying pelvic pain!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy Char = happy little baby, or so I think!

Looking forward to: Meeting my little stinker!!!!

Well, I've made it to the due date, and unfortunately the baby won't be one of the 5% that actually comes on that date! Better luck next one ;).

What I've been doing to hopefully bring on labour:

  • raspberry leaf tea
  • walking/moving
  • spicy food
  • nesting up a storm (ie: baking, cleaning and packing)

I'd love to add massage to that list, but we'll see. I'll talk to my personal masseuse (aka the husband) and if he can't swing it, then maybe I can get in for a legit one if the baby isn't here by Monday!!!

I don't want to sound impatient because I'm actually trying to accomplish the complete opposite of that, but all I want is to meet the baby when it's ready. I'm trying the more 'go with the flow' option and not trying to over-think how to get the baby out. I'll drink the tea (because I love tea), and eat spicy food (because I love it anyways) and bake (because who doesn't love banana bread?!), but I feel like the baby will come when it wants, and I'm fine with that also!!
