unshared stories + new lately

Ok, honesty time. Even though I’ve fallen out of a rhythm with blogging (when will this rut/feeling very unnatural with it end?!?!), I was thinking about all the unshared stories I have. We’re talking some dating back into the beginning of this year.

And I thought to myself, why don’t I still share/tell them even though they are a bit late?

While I lack the clarity to decide on current topics, let’s go back and get some old stuff out of the way! Some of it may be useful to others and I find it silly that I go through the trouble of typing posts up and then think, “Oh I’ll post it later.” Yup, that never happens. Never. I’m notorious for either getting it done in the moment or throwing it into a blackhole. The blackhole is getting old….fast.

Don’t worry, I will mix it in with new content, but on those days when I’m really stuck, I can tap into content that’s been waiting for it’s light to shine! I still want to make sure I’m posting new content and maybe it will give me the “oomph” to do that. Maybe I’m struggling because my life is really uninteresting right now and I think…no one wants to hear this.

There are some things I want to share that are current though before I go to make this post about more than just not having anything to deliver today, haha.

New Lately

On the house hunt!

As we hunt for a place to live (move out in early next month), we ended up looking at one yesterday in the next subdivision over in a house that we were hoping would come available. And guess what? We might have a winner. We’re still weighing the options because we actually looked at another place the week before that’s a bit bigger, but I’m loving the one from yesterday.

It might actually get me back into doing things I enjoy, such as getting on Periscope. The kitchen is gorgeous and we would have a ton more storage than we currently do. I might be lame, but if you can provide me with a gorgeous kitchen, I am sold. I’ll move in yesterday. Why does granite, open concept, and pantry sing to me?

This also means that I won’t be afraid to share my life with you because our current living conditions are far from ideal. I’ll open up about that one day in the future when I can laugh it off…eventually.

Workouts from last week

I haven’t done this in a long time, but here’s a look at what my week in workouts was last week! (Tell me if you like this, because I kind of like doing it - you keep me accountable!)

  • Monday: PiYo Sweat (40 mins)
  • Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday: 4 mile run + some functional movement (for my hip…more on that below)
  • Thursday: 21-day Fix Extreme Plyo (30 mins)
  • Friday: 6 mile run @ 8:30 pace
  • Saturday: Off
  • Sunday: 8 mile run @ 9:00 pace

Hip update

I’ve been getting treated weekly at chiro for the last month now—some of it was before I got this crazy new pain in my right hip that I’ve never experienced before and then since that happened, that’s been our friend (who also happens to be a chiro and works with my hubby)’s focus. He’s given me some rehab moves that I do daily and here’s the verdict:

-The pain has not gotten worse when I run, BUT….

-The pain is always there everyday.

-The pain is worse not right after running (phew), but if I’m sitting for periods of time after activity and even after sitting on days of nothing (I think it’s telling me to get off the couch)

-I really need to strengthen that area of my body and can’t believe how uneven my hip strength is

-Sometimes I think it’d be easier to just be completely sedentary and not worry about problems with being active haha (<—ok this is false, but a thought I think about)

Bye bye, bunny

You know how your kid has that one thing they can’t live without? Yup, ours went missing yesterday morning. The strangest part is…we didn’t even leave the house. So while, yes, it is lying somewhere in our place, we have searched high and low and found NOTHING. Nuuuuuuu-thing. I nearly went mental a couple times today, but I eventually got too exhausted to even think about where else it could be (no, I checked the washing machine, thank you). I gave up. We all gave up.

Luckily, I was proactive when Nia was about 1.5 years old and bought “back-up bunny” (<—that’s still its name, we’re a creative bunch over here), and that seemed to be ok for her going to sleep last night. Thank goodness because I was seriously worried about bedtime. I’ll let you know when (or if) it turns up and I’m sure it will be quite the story!

That’s all for now.

Can you please give me some feedback on the style/types of posts YOU would like to see moving forward? I have a few recipes I’ve done up in my newsletter, so if you aren’t subscribing to it yet to have first access to stuff, then make sure you do here. Otherwise, I plan to post a few of those soon, and would love to know what content you’d like me to write!
